In the wake of several high-profile cases in Australia where customers' personal data has been stolen, we would like to reassure our clients that we employ a number of techniques to keep our systems secure. For the tech geeks out there, here are some of the ways in which we look after our clients' data:
All systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure that collects, processes, or stores personal information are segregated from the rest of the network.
We use firewall technology at all internet points of presence and have formal firewall configurations.
Netwest (our IT outsourced service provider) has a patch management policy that enables us to implement critical patches within 30 days.
We are one of 8 companies in Australia that are SMPS certified. https://www.strata.community/practice-standard This gives our clients peace of mind that we have met and continue to meet standards around how we store and back up data.
As an additional protection, Abode Strata maintain Cyber insurance with Agile Underwriting and comply with the requirements as set out in the SMPS policy above.
We have a Firewall installed on all external gateways, automatic system updates switched on and active via Cisco
Our cloud hosting provider, back-up your critical data at least once per month and store these backups in a location separate from our physical premises e.g. segregated from our network. We have also tested our backup recovery and can recover all our business-critical data and systems within ten (10) days
We have anti-malware software (Trend Micro Worry-Free Business) installed and enabled on all endpoint devices such as desktops, laptops, and servers (excluding database servers) and it is updated at least daily
All bank account payments require 2FA from a Director with a Vasco remote handheld digital security device.
Property IQ software requires MFA to log in.
Arcserve SaaS Backup – which allows us to back up our critical data at least once per month and stores these back-ups in a location that is separate from our physical premises i.e segregated from our network.
And we won't stop there - as technology moves forward, so will we! 🔒
If you have any further suggestions to improve our security for your sake, please let us know!
